I don’t have many grandiose stories of Mahito, but I do have memories.<\/p>\n
I ended up meeting Mahito when he was an RA in building 201. \u00a0He was definitely a different guy back then, but his attitude was infectious. \u00a0He was also just as crazy. \u00a0I remember him and Bryan Schaefer running around climbing trees and looking for odd mushrooms. \u00a0I’ll still never forget the time we all went out to the beach in the middle of the night to slide down the sand slopes. \u00a0Never liked climbing back up, and I never did remember what beach we went to, but hey, we had fun.<\/p>\n
Imagine my surprise when the straight-laced RA does an about face and I find a structurally-sound stripper pole in his living room a few years later. \u00a0And I do mean structurally sound. \u00a0But the attitude was still the same, merely stripped away of all the structure from having to do advisory…uh…stuff.<\/p>\n
The last time I ran into the big guy was at the supermarket. \u00a0I was telling him what I was doing with my life and hoped to run into again. \u00a0That was probably four months ago. \u00a0I had hoped to run into him again since. \u00a0Looks like I may have to wait a while longer.<\/p>\n
Mahito, you’re a true inspiration, and the standing-room-only-get-together at the pub was proof of that. \u00a0It makes me want to fight harder than ever. \u00a0We’ll all miss you.<\/p>\n
